Year-End Recap

With another year almost gone, we're overdue for a recap. Studiobanks has seen its fair share of changes this year, most notably moving into our new office in South End's Citispace and effectively doubling in size. Recently, we brought ECU graduate Clay Johnson into the fold. Clay's design and aesthetic sensibilities are sure to help Studiobanks branch out even further next year. Mostly, we've just been glued to our computers working. So, take some time to browse around the portfolio and view our most recent projects. (Press Release) Studiobanks Launches New Website for Opera Carolina

Studiobanks launched a new website for Opera Carolina www.operacarolina.org, the largest professional opera company in the Carolinas with an operating budget of over $2.8 million. Earlier in the year, Studiobanks was chosen by the organization out of a group of area agencies to revamp the Opera Carolina online presence for the 2006-2007 season.

Fitting in alongside the Opera Carolina branding the new website aims to educate visitors about the opera as well as inspire them to attend. With the integration of motion and sound, the new Opera Carolina website is suited to immerse the visitor in the opera experience as well as provide a breath of information in an easy-to-use format without being overwhelming.

(Press Release) Studiobanks Opens New Southend Office and Expands it's Creative Team

Studiobanks recently uprooted their operation and moved closer to Uptown Charlotte, opening a new office in Southend’s CITISPACE building. “We felt the need to be closer to the center of the Charlotte design community and closer to our clients. We’re now in a space that better reflects our personality.” — said Studiobanks’ President Banks Wilson.

Best of Show

As previously posted, Studiobanks earned 8 Addy awards from the Charlotte Ad Club at the 2006 Addy Award Show. At the end of the night, we were shocked to learn that we had also won the top honor, the "Best of Show" award for our Urbana Cityspa & Teabar website. It marked the first "new media" project to win the honor in Charlotte's Addy history. Check out our photo album!

The Charlotte Ad Club’s 2006 Addy Awards Show held Thursday night at The Big Chill presented hundreds of awards, a few special recognitions, and one great surprise to Charlotte’s advertising industry. Studiobanks, a young business of four designers took home the “Best of Show” award for their Urbana Cityspa & Teabar website www.escape2urbana.com design—the first “new media” project to win the honor in Charlotte’s Addy history.

Addy's and Opera Carolina

We are excited to announce Studiobanks has picked up 8 Addy awards from the Charlotte Ad Club for various projects completed last year. The awards ceremony will be held March 9th here in Charlotte. We'll fill you in on the specifics of the awards following the ceremony. In other news, Studiobanks has won the contract to aid Opera Carolina in developing its online presence for the 2006-2007 season. The finished product, which will aim at educating visitors about the opera as well as inspiring them to attend, will launch this spring.

Urbana Cityspa & Teabar

Charlotte, NC needs a spa that doesn't confine itself to cookie-cutter standards and outmoded design. In March 2006, Urbana Cityspa & Teabar will open its doors and offer up a truly modern twist on massage and tea. Studiobanks is excited to help bring this unique space to the Charlotte area. We recently completed work on the Urbana brand and website, which allows visitors to completely immerse themselves in the Urbana experience. Early next year we will launch an ad campaign in area publications to spread the word about the grand opening.
