In February of 2002, inside a small office building in South Charlotte, Banks Wilson started on a quest to build his own design firm aimed at “Redesigning Communication.” After realizing agency work wasn’t for him, Wilson knew starting his own firm was a logical choice and Studiobanks was born.

Wilson attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte concentrating his studies in graphic design. Upon graduation in the spring of 2001, Wilson felt his talents were underutilized working in a corporate environment.
