(Press Release) Top Honors at ADDY Awards Show
The Charlotte Ad Club’s 2006 Addy Awards Show held Thursday night at The Big Chill presented hundreds of awards, a few special recognitions, and one great surprise to Charlotte’s advertising industry. Studiobanks, a young business of four designers took home the “Best of Show” award for their Urbana Cityspa & Teabar website www.escape2urbana.com design—the first “new media” project to win the honor in Charlotte’s Addy history.
“Best of Show” Addy’s of the past have been given to more traditional design media like magazine and television ads, but this year’s award validates website and interactive design as a new growing force in Charlotte’s advertising industry.
It also validates Studiobanks as a growing force in Charlotte’s advertising industry. Sitting amongst Charlotte’s large and established advertising agencies, Studiobanks presented a range of work that received six silver Addy’s and two golds in categories for websites, logos, collateral, and out-of-home poster campaigns.
Charlotte Ad Club’s Addy Chairman Barry Wilson complimented the honor explaining, “The Addy’s have nothing to do with a business’s history or size. It is simply judged on the quality of the work presented.”
